The menu is sure to delight even the most exacting tastes and every dish is served with a level of élan and flair upon which the restaurant has built its strong reputation. On our visit, we were delighted with the smoked salmon leaf filled with avocado and crab mousse, and the delectable pumpkin soup was a model of simplicity, being at once fresh, subtle and engaging.

The main course of lamb cutlets topped with an olive tapenade crust were perfectly tender and the mint mash complemented the dish perfectly. The pan-fried rib-eye of beef, served with a green peppercorn sauce, French beans and mange tout parcels was superb. With such excellent food and a handpicked wine list to accompany every dish, a visit to La Barbe cannot be recommended highly enough.
